Here's a rundown on recent happenings within the KO-dom :
Y2KO Round 5 starts
Round 5 of the Y2KO Mega Open began June 16, 2003. A summary

Open Events (KO-5xx series)
Join up for an Open KO using the form below or by sending us an
e-mail requesting entry into a KO-5 series Open Event.
The Tournament of Champions
The KO
Tournaments of Champions for 1995 and 1996 are progressing well
with five of the six categories completed, and another in the final
round. Results can be found on the KO
'Hall of Fame' page for the completed tournaments or on the KO
Tournaments in Progress page for those that are still in
progress. We're still planning the 1997 Tournament of Champions
event. More details coming very soon!
Play up when you win
If you win a KO, you can now choose to play in a KO in the
next-higher ratings category. For example, if you win a KO-1 series
(1200-1599) you can ask us to sign you up for a KO-2 series
(1600-1999) any time in the next 12 months. Simply drop us an e-mail
letting us know you'd like to play up a little!

Please note that if you have 7 (or even 15) friends that want to
play a private KO, drop us a line at
and we'll set you up with your own personal Series 5xx KO Event.

How to enter a KO Tournament
To participate in a KO Tournament you MUST be a member of the
IECC. If you are not a member, .
If you are a member, send an e-mail to
and include:
- Your full name
- Your e-mail address
- The Ratings Group you want to sign up for (see the rating
groups just below)
KO Tournament Information:There are 5 rating groups
offered.
- KO-1000's - up to 1199
- KO-2000's - 1200 to 1599
- KO-3000's - 1600 to 1999
- KO-4000's - 2000 and up
- KO-5000's - Open KO's
KOs are generally played in 3 rounds of 2 game matches, one as
white, one as black. Winners advance, defeated players are "knocked
out".
- Round 1: Eight players are paired in two-game matches.
- Round 2: The 4 survivors are paired in two-game matches.
- Round 3: The 2 finalists are paired in a two-game match.
Note: The winner of the final round is the tournament Champion.

Both games in a 2 game match must be played concurrently! Failure
to do so will constitute a time violation, and may incur a
forfeit.
If a match is drawn: the player with the lower rating on the
Pairing e-mail for that round, advances.

working on an archive page that will list all KO games (when we find
them).
